Happy new year!
My friend, thanks for stopping by.
So, you're here. On my website. Where you can find my bio, current business ventures, and, really, any big news. Also if you're looking for my web design services, just click the appropriate tab above.
What's new, you ask? Well, it's been an amazing year full of great surprises, twists and turns. I laughed, I cried, I moved, I learned a language. Hell, I even read like eight books (impressive, I know). And this year I have more plans up my sleeve.
Firstly, I'm announcing my candidacy for President of the NMC Student Union. The department is in need of change, and I promise to deliver. In such a fascinating and unique department, with such invaluable resources and worldwide recognition, and with students from such an interesting variety of backgrounds, the NMC has unlimited potential. We need more frequent and bigger events, to develop a closer-knit community. We need a greater presence in Near & Middle East academia. We need more courses offered. We need a name, and we need a voice.
Over the course of the next few months, you'll see my face in and around the NMC department, so if you have any questions - or would like to see something specific changed - please say hi.
Secondly (well, kind of a side note, really), is a new project I'm involved in.
It's called UViViO, and its basically an independent movie collection. Or, how did I put it, a "high-class YouTube, for independent films"? Yeah. Let me know what you think.
I wish you all the best in the coming year, and a happy and rewarding 2010!
Cheers,

Aaron L. Shapland
